For Parents
Medical Procedures and First Aid
Medical Procedures
If a student has a specific health or medical condition/injury, an Individual First Aid Plan or Non Specific Health Care Plan needs to be completed and signed by the student’s medical practitioner and presented to our front office for the school’s records. If the student is prescribed with ANY medication, including Ventolin, a Medication Agreement will also need to be completed by the student’s medical practitioner. All medical plans/agreements will be reviewed every 12 months. If the student’s circumstances change during this period, the parent/carer is responsible to inform the front office. Medication will only be administered when all medical forms have been completed and signed.
First Aid
When first aid is provided a blue first aid slip will be sent home via the student to inform the parent/carer of the incident. If further medical and/or hospital attention is sought after school hours from this incident we ask the parent/carer to inform the front office ASAP. In the event that a student receives any form of trauma to the head, the parent/carer will be contacted and informed of the incident and may be asked to collect the student if necessary. An ambulance will be called in accordance with first aid guidelines and for all emergencies.
Emergency Contact/s
It is vital that all parent/carer contact details are kept up-to-date. Please advise the front office staff of any changes or additional emergency contacts ASAP.
